Reporting to the Director of Research, as part of the mechanical thrombectomy team, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture and characterization of different biological clots, in line with predefined R&D plans.

Mission description:
Be responsible for the execution of developments according to R&D plans
Design biological clots representative of the different types of human clots from fresh blood
Improve clot manufacturing techniques to ensure quality and reproducibility
Develop clot characterization techniques: mechanical, biological, histological, etc.
Design and improve clot storage techniques
Design and improve the manufacturing process to guarantee production quality and volumes
Produce and characterize batches of clots
Analyze characterization and production data, etc.
Manage supplies for clot production and the development of manufacturing and/or testing tools
Contribute to clot removal tests: design tests and test benches, carry out tests and analyse data
Monitor scientific developments in clots and stroke
Contribute to the design of mechanical thrombectomy techniques and tools.
Participate in the preparation and conduct of in vivo trials.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE ...
A Master’s degree or an engineering diploma in R&D (Biomaterials, Biology, or a related field)
At least two years of experience as an R&D Engineer, ideally in medical device development.
Hands-on experience in research projects, including design, development, production, and quality control.
A strong background in hematology, biology, and ideally biomaterials and data analysis.
Proven experience working with human or animal blood and a deep understanding of the coagulation cascade (mandatory).
Fluency in English, both written and spoken, to collaborate in an international setting.
You are autonomous and proactive, with a structured and rigorous approach. You enjoy developing innovative solutions and working in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers, physicians, and industry or academic partners.
